Question by worried: i just had sex on sat november 21st 2009. when would be my conception date?

i am trying to concieve, my period is already late, i had sex before but unplanned. i took a preg test and came out negative. so i just tried again this sat. when would i concieve and when should a take a test?
i took a preg test today in the morning but it still came out negative. is it possible that i am pregnant already even though the test came up negative? my period was due the 18th and is not here yet.

It sounds like you don't understand what conception is or how it occurs. Once a month (usually around 14 days after the start of your period), your body releases an egg. This is called ovulation. The egg needs to be fertilized within 48 hours or it will die. If you have unprotected sex around the time of ovulation (within 2-3 days on either side of ovulation), you have a 15-20% that conception will occur. If it does occur, your next period will not arrive, so you can take a pregnancy test around the time of your missed period. If your periods are irregular or you don't know when to expect it, you can take a test around 14 days after you think you may have conceived. If your period still doesn't come and your tests are coming up negative, you can contact your doctor for a blood test.
